UC Rusal in coke agreement

UC Rusal has signed a five year contract with Gazprom Neft for the supply of up to 1Mt of electrode petroleum coke.
The coke, used by the aluminium industry for anode manufacturing, will be supplied by the Omsk Refinery, a Gazprom Neft subsidiary.
It is the first long-term supply contract between the parties, the previous contracts did not exceed two years.
In the mid-term perspective Gazprom Neft plans to upgrade the Omsk refinery coke production facilities and increase its coke production efficiency.
The coke will be supplied to Rusal’s Boguchansk and Taishet smelters.
