North American production rise

The Aluminum Association, in cooperation with the Aluminum Association of Canada, reported primary production in North America (US and Canada) during February 2011 at an annual rate of 4,801,028t, increasing 34,233t/y (+0.7%) over the previous month's rate of 4,766,794t.

Compared to a year ago, the annual rate of production was 1.6% above the February 2010 rate of 4,725,355t.

Through the first two months of 2011, actual production was 773,149t, up 1.6% over a year ago.
