North America production declines 17.7% in 2009

Primary aluminium production in North America (US and Canada) was down 17.7% in 2009 to a total of 4.757Mst, reports the Aluminum Association.
During December, the annual rate of production was 4.670Mst, up six-tenths of 1% over the previous month. Compared to a year ago, the annual rate of production in December was 15% below the December 2008 rate of 5.497Mst.
