Casthouse Technology conference programme update
The programme for the 2011 Aluminium Cast House Technology conference has been updated.
The event at Sebel Albert Park Melbourne, Australia includes 35 presentations, a panel session and an optional visit to the Rio Tinto Bell Bay smelter in Tasmania.
The two keynote presentations will be delivered by Aleris’s Ray Peterson who will give an overview on dross formation and processing, and by Munimula’s Peter Whiteley who will review furnace technology developments.
Session titles include Markets and Casthouse Layouts, Environment, Safety, Melt Quality and Treatment and Supplier Sessions.
Companies presenting papers include Rio Tinto Alcan, CRU, Worley/Emal, Pyrotek, Sintef, Chalco, Novelis and Solios. Paper titles include 'Algal sequestration: opportunities for the Aluminium industry', 'Rotary Tilting Furnace dross treatment' and 'Wheel and belt casting modelling'.
The event takes place between September 10-14, 2011.
