IAI: output down in April
World primary aluminium output averaged 68,100t/day in April, down from a revised 68,300t/day in March and 70,400t/day in April 2011, according to figures released by the International Aluminium Institute.
North American demand on the rise
Preliminary estimates of total aluminium demand in the USA and Canada for Q1 2012 totaled 5.8 million pounds, a 7.5% increase over Q1 2011.
Daily output drops slightly
Daily average primary aluminium output in February dropped to 68.9kt compared with 69kt in January and 69.6kt in February 2011, provisional figures from the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) showed.
